Make your own Butter options:

  • Avocado butter – cream a ripe avocado and add a touch of sea salt
  • Roasted garlic butter – mash roasted cloves with a splash of olive oil
  • Fruit butters – puree re-hydrated prunes and dates; or ripe bananas
  • Better than butter Balsamic Dip
  • Nutritionally Infused Butter – Blend ¼ part nutritional yeast with olive oil
  • Olive oil butter – Mix equal parts of olive oil and organic butter (melted)
    Store in the fridge for a healthier version of spread-able butter


Drop Margarine?? Yes! (Even non hydrogenated)

What is it:

Basically it is a mixture of fat with skim milk or milk protein and may include preservatives, color, flavours and jelling agents.

The non-hydrogenated margarines differ from the conventional version with the hydrogenated component replaced by fractionated tropical and or mono-saturated oils combined with polyunsaturated oils.

Whey powder, pectin and gelatin are added to improve consistency.

There is no info on the long term effects of these ‘fake’ fats.
