TOASTED SESAME SPINACH SALAD
This salad is always a favorite at parties and gatherings and sure to become a favorite of yours. There is a wonderful exotic taste to it thanks to the toasted sesame oil . It is essential so be sure to have this oil on hand as well as regular sesame or olive oil.
INGREDIENTS:
3 cups fresh organic spinach, chopped
2 cups fresh mung bean sprouts
1 bulb fennel, slivered
1 cup carrots, shredded
½ cup red onions, slivered
1 cup fresh or frozen peas, thawed
¼ cup almond slivers, toasted
2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted
DIRECTIONS:

INGREDIENTS:
3 tbsp rice vinegar or white balsamic
3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 tbsp gluten free Tamari mixed w/ 1 tbsp honey or simply use coconut aminos
2 tsp Maison Orphee toasted sesame oil
¼ cup regular organic sesame oil, not toasted OR olive oil
2 tsp fresh ginger root, minced
1 tsp garlic, minced
1 tbsp Tamari or coconut aminos, gluten free

½ cup red onions, slivered
1 cup fresh or frozen peas, thawed
¼ cup almond slivers, toasted
2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted
DIRECTIONS:
- Gently combine all the salad ingredients but the almonds and sesame seeds in a large glass salad bowl.
- Cover with a damp towel and refrigerate while preparing the dressing.
TOASTED SESAME VINAIGRETTE /MARINADE
INGREDIENTS:
3 tbsp rice vinegar or white balsamic
3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 tbsp gluten free Tamari mixed w/ 1 tbsp honey or simply use coconut aminos
2 tsp Maison Orphee toasted sesame oil
¼ cup regular organic sesame oil, not toasted OR olive oil
2 tsp fresh ginger root, minced
1 tsp garlic, minced
1 tbsp Tamari or coconut aminos, gluten free
DIRECTIONS:
- Combine all dressing ingredients in a glass jar with a tight fitting lid and sake well to combine thoroughly. Taste, adjusting seasonings to taste.
- Pour dressing over the salad mix tossing well to coat greens evenly.
- Sprinkle with the almonds and sesame seeds just before serving.
