SUNBUTTER BANANA BITES
You have those days too right? The, ‘I really want a snack yet it’s got to be healthy and sate my appetite for a while’ sensation. I am sure it happens to the best of us and that’s why I keep a cache of goodies on hand for times such as that. Today our creation takes an ole familiar combo and marries the ingredients with a few hero foods for a truly satisfying, seems-so-indulgent-but-it’s not, treat you'll love.
What makes it ever more fun is how perfect these are to have in the freezer –its my favorite way of enjoying them, You can enjoy them either way and if the kids need a great snack for the classroom then these are a perfect easy-to-make, tasty and good-for-them treat they are sure to love.
Best of all, the kids will have a blast making them with you and there is both magic and wisdom in preparing food together with your loved ones.
INGREDIENTS
2 large ripe bananas
Approx. ¼ cup SunButter (organic, regular or crunchy)
Raw cacao powder and ground cinnamon
Raw cacao nibs

- Prep time: 10 minutes, Freeze time: 60-90 minutes
- Low Allergens – Vegan, gluten, nut, soy, corn, dairy-free
- Yield - Approx 24 plus banana bites
INGREDIENTS
2 large ripe bananas
Approx. ¼ cup SunButter (organic, regular or crunchy)
Raw cacao powder and ground cinnamon
Raw cacao nibs
DIRECTIONS
- Cut bananas into approx. ½ inch slice, place on a parchment covered cutting board and sprinkle each with raw cacao powder or cinnamon.
- Top each piece with a small tsp of SunButter then top with cinnamon and cacao nibs. Cover and place in the freezer for approx. 1 hour or until frozen then transfer to a container with a cover, storing for up to two weeks.
TERI'S TIPS:
- My fave product brands for the ingredients are organic SunButter, raw cacao over cocoa powder for the highest anti-oxidant benefits.
