SWEET N SPICY MAPLE NUGGETS

Perfect for gift gifting in cute little jars or cone shaped bags or holiday tins, these nuggets are fantastic tasting and super easy to make. I always get compliments and requests for the recipe. The spice combination is so yummy and big bonus, it’s great for augmenting your immune system and reducing inflammation.
INGREDIENTS:
4 cups raw nuts or seeds - almonds, pecans, walnuts, pumpkin, etc…
½ cup un-hulled organic sesame seeds or silvered almonds
1/3 – ½ cup maple syrup, unprocessed natural honey can be substituted
½ - ¾ tsp sea salt
¾ -1 tsp each ground cinnamon and cardamom
1-2 drops essential ginger oil or ¾ tsp organic ground ginger
1/2 to 1 tsp cayenne or crushed chili pepper flakes, to taste - Nutmeg is nice also

- Snack or Sweet Treat
- Prep time: 5 minutes, baking time 20 -25 minutes
- Yield: 4½ cups
- Oven 325F
INGREDIENTS:
4 cups raw nuts or seeds - almonds, pecans, walnuts, pumpkin, etc…
½ cup un-hulled organic sesame seeds or silvered almonds
1/3 – ½ cup maple syrup, unprocessed natural honey can be substituted
½ - ¾ tsp sea salt

DIRECTIONS:
- Cover a large baking sheet (1 – 2 inch sides), with a layer of parchment paper. Pre-heat oven to 325F.
- Combine the nuts, sesame seeds, maple syrup or honey and seasonings in a large bowl, stirring well. Spread out evenly onto the baking sheet, place into the oven and bake 15 – 20 minutes stirring occasionally.
- Let cool once it's done before transferring to a glass jar(s) with a lid. Enjoy as is, top parfaits, desserts, oatmeal and whatever else you can think of.
TERI’S TIPS:
- Can be stored in an airtight container for up to three weeks.
- For a more intensified caramel taste, cook an additional 10 minutes.
