INGREDIENTS
2½-3 cups organic non-dairy milk of your choice
2 tbsp organic raw cacao powder, sifted if needed
2-4 tsp Matcha powder, to taste
Lakanto, to taste
1 tsp turmeric powder
Pinch black pepper, finely ground,
Pinch cinnamon, allspice, cloves
DIRECTIONS:
- Set aside ½ cup milk in a small cup and heat remaining 2 cups on medium-high until very hot yet not boiling.
- Meantime whisk the cacao and Matcha powder, turmeric, pepper and cinnamon, allspice and cloves with the reserved milk until smooth, and then add it to the hot milk.
- While the milk is heating, froth the milk you set aside.
- Once your milks are done pour the matcha blend into warm mugs and top with the frothed milk then sprinkle with a little matcha powder before serving.
TERI’S TIPS:
- Add 1 tbsp Sunwarrior Protein powder to make this drink more substantial/filling.
- Make a liter or two of this in advance so it’s ready to go any time. Simply increase the ingredient amounts accordingly and store in a glass bottle in the refrigerator. When ready to enjoy, shake it well, pour into a pot and heat gently until very hot. You can warm it with a milk frother as well if available.
- Would you like a lighter version? Make this with half non-dairy milk and half boiling water.
