I’m sitting in a coffee shop, computer, a glass of water and my decaf Americano on hand with a whole lotta to-do’s to do. Around me, a wall of windows show case the beaming sun and brilliant recent snowfall, a humming buzz of conversations, the intoxicating smell of grinding coffee beans, good music playing… can I focus? Hell no!
Almost immediately as I settled, a flood of memories triggering tangible feelings of light-heartedness set in. I’m reliving sitting with my sister in a Nashville coffee shop after some holiday shopping.
A carefree, smile on my face sensation seeped in and the longing to be in that mode at this very moment high-jacked my emotions. Then I am off day dreaming and it's not related to work at all. Imagine that!
Yes I admit it. How about you, am I alone in this? Oh please tell me I am not.
That said, I did tackle one of my to-do’s before I penned this. And alas, now I must move on and get to the rest of my list. It does feel good to have expressed this feeling though. It was an emotion begging for attention and having allowed it expression I have another smile on my face and the intention to book myself a playful holiday mode shopping and social coffee date really soon.
May you do the same for I trust you know, self-care is the best way to navigate the demands of life with a great frame of mind and ability to do what needs to be done anxiety free.
Early holiday blessings your way.
